What happens if I get sick on the weekend or holiday?Signature Healthcare welcomes all of our patients to utilize our weekend Urgent Care services at 110 Liberty Street, Brockton, on weekends and major holidays. Our urgent care services are available for those times when your situation may not require a visit to the Emergency Room, but is serious enough to have a same day appointment. Typical ailments that would warrant a trip to urgent care include: abdominal pain, fever, flu- symptoms, headaches, intravenous antibiotics, minor injuries such as muscle strains and sprains or suture and staple removal, sore throat, urinary tract infections, or other women’s health issues. The Urgent Care Center at Signature Healthcare BGPMA offers expert and accessible services, supported by full lab and imaging services, including MRI, CT scan, and EKG. All of our providers are using electronic medical records and have access to your health information, ensuring you that you will be treated by someone who knows your medical history, current medications, and any allergies you may have. Simply call 508-894-0400 to speak with our Urgent Care team. Together, you will decide if you are a candidate for Urgent Care or need to go to the nearest emergency room. Our service is not a walk-in clinic, and a same day appointment will be scheduled at our 110 Liberty Street, Brockton location.
Additionally, Signature Healthcare BGPMA employs an answering service 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week. Each clinical department operates an on-call coverage system to ensure that a physician is always available to address any healthcare needs that may arise.
How do I select a primary care physician (PCP)?Signature Healthcare BGPMA encourages all patients to choose a primary care physician to provide personalized care as well as authorize and arrange specialized care if needed. Our Patient Services Department can help you make your PCP selection. If you desire to change your primary care physician, simply call our Patient Services Department at 508-894-0304. Please contact our Patient Relations Representative at 508-894-0400.What is the difference between a Family Practice physician and an Internal Medicine physician?Family practitioners care for patients of all ages, focusing on providing care to all members of the same family. Internal Medicine physicians provide care to adults over the age of 18. Both physicians will serve as your primary care physician to provide direct, comprehensive care as well as authorize specialty care if necessary. |
