| MASS-COMM Trial |
|
Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital is one of only a handful of community hospitals in Massachusetts able to offer elective coronary angioplasty, as part of the MASS-COMM Trial. The Department of Public Health’s MASS-COMM Trial is a randomized trial aimed at comparing safety and long-term outcomes for percutaneous coronary intervention between Massachusetts hospitals with cardiac surgery offered on-site, and community hospitals without cardiac surgery offered on-site. In 2006, Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital was chosen to participate in the trial, enabling the hospital to offer patients local treatment in the event that a blockage is found in the heart during a non-emergent situation. |
