Cancer Center Support Services

The Greene Cancer Center provides easier access to care and helps with patient education and support.

If you have a suspected or confirmed cancer diagnosis, you may be confused, unsure of next steps, or just in need of someone to talk to who understands what you're going through. A Patient Navigator is a trained specialist who guides and supports patients through the entire medical and treatment process. They work one-on-one with you to provide access to important information, critical resources and medical specialists.

As an experienced professional, a patient navigator knows the healthcare system and has established medical relationships in the community. Signature Healthcare’s Patient Navigator provides easier access to care and helps with patient education and support.

The primary objective of the program is to help you or your loved ones navigate healthcare system obstacles like:

  • Healthcare: coordination and/or communication among providers
  • Financial: insufficient insurance or limited financial resources, overwhelming or confusing paperwork
  • Physical: access to services and consistent transportation - rides to and from treatment
  • Educational: access to information, language barriers, treatment literacy
  • Social: concerns regarding treatments or personal obligations
  • Nutrition: your diet before, during and after treatment
  • Pastoral Care
