Brockton Hospital School of Nursing Donations

Join the Rosa Field Society & Create a Lasting Legacy with a Planned Gift

Perhaps you would like to do something to benefit the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing but you don’t have the resources at this time to make a cash gift. Consider joining the newly established Rosa Field Society.

The Brockton Hospital School of Nursing was established April 1897. In 1906, the Rosa Cottage for Nurses was built (dedicated on December 11, 1906) as a gift of Daniel W. Field, and named “Rosa” in honor of his wife. The building contained 15 chambers, a classroom, reception room, kitchen and dining room. An addition was built on the Rosa Cottage in 1917 and later re-named the Rosa Field Nurses Residence having outgrown the “cottage” designation.

Consider these easy ideas:

Leave a gift to Brockton Hospital School of Nursing in your will – It’s easy to dedicate an amount you would like to leave and for what purpose. Leaving money for scholarships or programs is a great way to create a legacy that will last long into the future. If you are considering leaving a gift to the School let your attorney know you would like to add Signature Healthcare’s Brockton Hospital School of Nursing in your will as a beneficiary.

Designate the School as an IRA beneficiary – If you are planning to leave money to charity from your estate an IRA gift may be a good option for you. Naming the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing as a beneficiary or partial beneficiary of your IRA can be an efficient way to support the School. Designating a percentage of your IRA to be left to the School upon your passing allows you to benefit from your IRA while you are alive and the School to benefit once you have passed. The process is simple. Complete a beneficiary designation form obtained from your IRA custodian. Money left to charity from your IRA will go directly to the charity and your estate will benefit from an estate tax charitable deduction for the gift.

Transfer an insurance policy – Transferring ownership of your insurance policy that has outlasted its original purpose, to a not-for-profit charitable organization, such as the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing, is the most tax-effective way to donate life insurance. You are entitled to an immediate charitable deduction for income tax purposes. If you continue to pay the premiums, each payment is also a deductible charitable donation.
