U.S. News & World Report names Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital a High Performing Hospital for the treatment of COPD and kidney failure

Signature Healthcare has been recognized as a High Performing Hospital by U.S. News & World Report for treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and kidney failure.

Signature Healthcare’s 2021-2022 “High Performing” ratings for treatment of COPD and kidney failure recognizes care significantly better than the national average, as measured by factors such as patient outcomes. “High Performing” is the highest rating U.S. News awards for these types of care. Fewer than a third of the 4,750 medical centers evaluated nationwide received a High Performing rating.

“At Signature Healthcare, we pride ourselves on delivering the safest quality of care with personal compassion,” said Kim Hollon, President and CEO of Signature Healthcare. “It is truly because of our staff’s dedication and commitment to safety and quality we are able to provide our community with outstanding nationally recognized care.”

The U.S. News & World Report annual Procedures & Conditions ratings are designed to assist patients and their doctors to make informed decisions about where to receive care for common conditions and elective procedures. The organization uses objective measures of quality such as risk-adjusted outcome rates, volume and quality of nursing to evaluate more than 17 procedures and conditions in all hospitals.

“This year’s expanded report from U.S. News includes new ratings for important procedures and conditions to help each patient pick the right hospital for the type of care they need,” said Ben Harder, managing editor and chief of health analysis at U.S. News. “Hospitals faced incredible challenges this past year, and the best of them have provided great care throughout the pandemic and continue to offer excellent care today.”

The distinction from U.S. News & World Report aligns with Signature Healthcare’s record of safe and outstanding quality care. Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital was awarded its 18th consecutive safety ‘A’ grade from Leapfrog in 2021, an achievement reached by only four hospitals in Massachusetts and 39 hospitals nationwide. The Hospital also received the 2021 Women’s Choice Awards for Best Comprehensive Breast Center and Best Mammogram Imaging Center.
