Billing Tips & Reminders

Billing Tips

Please be reminded of the following:

Check your email for billing information.

Carefully read everything you receive from the Bursar’s Office.

Create a file for your billing statements and any correspondence regarding the statements. Also, be sure to save any information pertaining to your financial aid.

Be aware of all deadlines, and do not wait until the last minute to question your bill.

Scholarships, financial aid, and student loans will significantly reduce the cost of attendance for most students. However, please be aware that college is not free. You are fully responsible for your bill.

There is an established policy that all tuition must be paid in full or have a signed budget payment plan on file with the Bursar’s office in order to attend classes. Failure to do so will result in any one or a combination of the following sanctions depending on the specific time in the semester in which your financial account is overdue.

  • Registration will be cancelled and you could be un-enrolled from classes if no payment is made by the due date.
  • Access to grades will be denied.
  • Registration for future semesters will be denied.

FERPA: (The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) is a federal law protecting the confidentiality of your student records, including financial information. In compliance with FERPA, BHSON must have written permission to release information from a record to anyone other than the student, this includes parents and third-party payers. Students are encouraged to complete a FERPA privacy waiver (permission to disclose) which will allow us to discuss your bill with parties that you authorize. A student is able to give permission to designate the person(s) to whom they give permission to discuss their bill. You may edit your FERPA Waiver at any time to change or eliminate your designees.
